Inspired by "Peacocks"

Our friend Norma Garcia-Muro shared this work of hand cut glass, stone and masonic materials with us. She crafted the work while attending Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris (alumni include Matisse, Monet, Degas and Sisley.

"Peacocks" weighed 50 pounds and, as she traveled around Europe,  she had to beg pilots and other airplane staff to let the artwork come aboard.

The 911 attacks took place while she was in Assisi, Italy - the birthplace of St. Francis.  She and the peacocks then traveled to Rome and were on the first authorized flight to Los Angeles

When security and pilots saw the artwork they said, "that's so beautiful- we haven't seen anything beautiful these days...welcome home."
